Knowledge of mothers about use of fissure sealant therapy and professional fluoride therapy among children in Saudi Arabia

Purpose: To evaluate mothers’ knowledge of the use fissure sealant (FS) and topical fluoride (TF) therapy among children aged between 7 to 12 years in Saudi Arabia.
 Methods: In this cross-sectional study, participants (n = 350) were selected based on simple random sampling method from old, attending outpatient pediatric dental clinics College Dentistry King Khalid University, Abha, Results: The age group mothers included are as follows: 31.7 % 20 - 30 group, 53.1 31 40 range, 15.1 41 50 years. On FS benefits prevention caries children, 22 responded that it was beneficial. When asked regarding wearing out easily after application tooth, 8 agreed while 13.4 disagreed. A majority (40.9 %) TF prevents caries, 47.7 stated they brush twice daily with toothpaste. disagreed gel is recommended only for not adults 32.9 %. about benefit if its cost taken into consideration, 46.6 worth cost, 22.3 took opposite view.
 Conclusion: Positive have been observed mothers. However, demonstrated greater positive than therapy.
